Connect a Social Media Scheduler to Claude or Cursor
Keep your AI. Claude or Cursor writes the post, and SocialPost is the layer after the writing: SocialPost previews the post, holds the post for your approval and schedules the post. To connect a social media scheduler to Claude or Cursor, you add the scheduler's MCP connector URL in the app's settings, then sign in and click Authorize. With SocialPost, the connector URL is on the Connect your AI Assistant page in your SocialPost account. After the connection, you ask Claude or Cursor for a post, and nothing publishes until you approve it in the chat. This guide is for an MSP or a small firm whose founder already works in Claude.

What the connection does
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. MCP is a way for an AI assistant to use an outside tool without you copying text between windows. Once SocialPost is connected, your assistant writes the caption. SocialPost can then create a branded image for the post with your logo and brand colors. SocialPost schedules the post to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Threads, in your timezone. The SocialPost MCP page, read on October 19, 2026, lists these six networks and the branded image.
Your assistant can also see what is queued, what went out and what failed. You can ask it to save a draft with different text for each network, or to cancel a post that has not gone out yet.
Connect SocialPost to Claude
In Claude.ai, open Settings and choose Connectors. Click Add custom connector, which may sit under an Add more button. Paste your connector URL and name the connector SocialPost.ai. A SocialPost window opens. Sign in, then click Authorize.
Claude Desktop, the app where Claude Cowork also runs, uses the same steps: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in and Authorize.
In Claude Code, run this command in your terminal: claude mcp add --transport http socialpost https://api.socialpostai.com/api/mcp/. Then run /mcp inside Claude Code. A browser window opens, where you sign in to SocialPost and click Authorize.
On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds SocialPost first, in Organization settings, then Connectors. After that, each member connects SocialPost from their own Settings.
Connect SocialPost to Cursor
In Cursor, open Settings and go to the MCP section. Choose Add new server and pick the URL or HTTP type. Paste your connector URL. Sign in to SocialPost in the window that opens, then click Authorize.
On Cursor Teams or Enterprise, admins can restrict MCP servers. If adding the server fails, ask your admin to allow the SocialPost URL under Team settings, MCP Configuration, in the Cursor dashboard.
Where your approval sits
Before a post goes out, your assistant shows you a preview of exactly what each network will get. Every post request through the MCP connection needs your explicit approval in the chat before it publishes. If the preview is not right, ask for a fresh draft. The SocialPost MCP page states that a scheduled post is set at least 10 minutes out, and you can cancel the post any time before it goes out. To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude or Cursor, and access ends at once.
This matters because a post from your account carries your name. A draft that reads fine to the model can still be wrong for the week you are having. The approval step gives you the last read before your network sees the post.
What stays in the SocialPost web app
Some tasks are not part of the connection. You connect or remove social accounts in the SocialPost web app. You also attach your own photos, edit a saved post, set recurring schedules and read analytics there.
The SocialPost MCP page lists every AI app the connector works with. For the best day and hour to post, SocialPost's best time to post calculator helps once your cadence is set.
What you need
You need a SocialPost account with at least one social account connected, such as your LinkedIn profile or company page. On Claude, custom connectors need a paid plan, such as Claude Pro. If the option to add a connector does not appear, check your plan first.
