A buyer who opens a small firm's LinkedIn page looks for three things before reading a word: the date of the latest post, whether the posts look designed, and whether a real person stands behind the firm. A two-person firm looks established when the page shows a recent post, posts with a consistent visual style, and a named person.
To test this, we looked at the public LinkedIn company pages of ten small B2B firms on October 9, 2026, the way a buyer sees them without logging in. The results below show where small firms lose the buyer.
How we looked at ten small-firm LinkedIn pages
The ten firms are professional services firms headquartered in Austin, Texas: four accounting firms, four staffing and recruiting firms, and two law firms. Seven list 2 to 10 employees on LinkedIn and three list 11 to 50. The firms come from a larger sample of 40 Austin firms that we first read on September 4, 2026. We found the 40 through web searches for Austin professional services firms, then through LinkedIn's public similar-pages list, in the order found. We took every firm in the 2 to 10 employee band with at least one public post, then the first three firms in the 11 to 50 band, in the order the sample found them.
A logged-out visitor sees up to about ten recent posts on a LinkedIn company page. For each post we recorded the date, whether the post carried its own image or video, and whether the post tagged a person's LinkedIn profile or reshared a person's post. We read each page once, did not log in, and do not name the firms here.

"Usual gap" is the median number of days between the visible posts. Days are counted to October 9, 2026.
What the ten pages show
The date beats the design
Firms B and E attached an image to every visible post. Firm B last posted 100 days before our reading, and Firm E 238 days before. A buyer sees the date before the graphics, so a well-designed feed that stopped looks like a firm that stopped. Four of the ten firms had posted in the seven days before our reading, and three had not posted for more than 90 days.
A steady weekly rhythm is enough
Firm A, a 2 to 10 person accounting firm, posted about once a week, with a usual gap of six days, and every post carried an image or a video. Firm A looked as active as Firm J, a larger staffing firm posting several times a day. A buyer does not count posts. A buyer checks that the latest post is recent and that the posts before it look like they came from the same firm.
Text-only feeds look unfinished
Firms C, D and J posted mostly or only text. On a company page, a run of text-only posts reads as a notice board rather than a firm with a brand. Firms A, B, E, H and I attached an image or a video to every visible post, so their feeds read as one consistent set of social media graphics.
The person is missing
Across 90 visible posts, one post tagged a person's LinkedIn profile or reshared a person's post. For a two-person firm, the people are the product. A buyer hiring an accountant or a lawyer wants to see who does the work, and company pages in this group almost never showed that person.
Five steps to make a two-person firm look established
- Pick a rhythm you can keep for a year. One post a week is enough, based on Firm A. A gap of three months costs more than a missed Tuesday.
- Give every post a visual in your colors. Use your logo, your two brand colors and one typeface on every image, so the feed looks like one firm made the posts.
- Put a name on the work. Tag the partner who wrote the post, or share the partner's own post to the company page. A buyer trusts a named accountant more than a logo.
- Fix the page basics once. A clear logo, a one-line tagline that says who the firm serves, and a working website link.
- Check the page as a stranger. Open your company page in a private browser window, logged out. What you see is what a buyer sees.
