Schedule on X / Twitter
How to Schedule a Post on SocialPost (X / Twitter)
Scheduling tweets (X-posts) in advance saves you time and helps maintain consistency. This guide will walk you through how to schedule for Twitter / X using SocialPost.
Before You Begin
-
Make sure your Twitter / X account is connected and authorized in SocialPost.
-
Prepare your content (text, images, video, links) beforehand so uploading is smoother.
-
Be mindful of Twitter / X character limits and media rules (see “Tips & Guidelines” below).
Step-by-Step: Scheduling a Tweet / X Post
-
Open the Scheduler
From your SocialPost dashboard, click “Scheduler” (or equivalent). You’ll see a calendar view showing upcoming posts and empty time slots.
-
Select Your Twitter / X Profile
From your list of connected profiles, choose your Twitter / X account. (If you have multiple X accounts, pick the one you want to post from.)
-
Add Your Post Content
Enter your tweet text in the editor. You can include links, tags (handles), hashtags, etc.
-
Upload Media (Optional / Recommended)
If you want to include images, gifs or video, click “Upload Media.”
-
You can attach up to 4 images or 1 video (depending on supported formats).
-
Preview will show how your media appears in the tweet.
-
-
Check Character Limits
-
A standard tweet / X post allows up to 280 characters.
-
Note: URLs, mentions, and hashtags count toward the limit.
-
If you use media, Twitter / X may automatically shorten certain links.
-
Watch for character overflow warnings in the editor.
-
-
Click “Schedule”
After you’ve completed your content and added media, click the Schedule button (or similar) to set timing.
-
Set Date, Time & Time Zone
Choose the date and exact time when you want the tweet to go live. Also ensure the correct time zone is selected (especially important if managing for multiple regions).
-
Confirm (“Done” / “Save”)
Once everything looks right, click Done (or Save) to finalize the schedule. Your post is now queued.
-
View / Manage Scheduled Tweets
In the calendar / scheduler view, you’ll see your scheduled tweets. From there, you can:
-
Edit the tweet content or media
-
Reschedule (change date/time)
-
Delete / cancel the scheduled tweet

Tips & Guidelines: Twitter / X Posting
Topic |
Best Practice / Note |
Character count |
Keep total under 280 characters. Be concise—especially when including links or mentions. |
Links |
URLs are automatically shortened by Twitter / X and use a fixed character count. |
Handles / Mentions |
Use @username to mention users; each mention counts toward character limit. |
Hashtags |
Use relevant hashtags sparingly to improve reach without clutter. |
Media attachments |
You can attach up to 4 images or 1 video in a tweet. Ensure correct format (e.g. JPEG, PNG, MP4). |
Alt text / accessibility |
Add alt text to images for accessibility if your platform supports it. |
Threaded posts |
Scheduling single tweets is supported; if you want a thread, you may need to schedule each tweet in sequence or use the “thread” feature if available. |
Best times to post |
Check your analytics to find times when your followers are most active. Scheduling helps you hit those windows without needing to be online. |
