Schedule on Meta (Facebook & Instagram)

How to Schedule a Post on SocialPost (Meta: Facebook & Instagram)

Managing your presence across Meta platforms—Facebook and Instagram—is easy with SocialPost's scheduling tool. This guide will walk you through the steps to schedule posts for both platforms, so you can stay consistent and save time.

Before You Begin

Before starting, prepare all your media (images or videos) and save them in a folder on your computer. This ensures a smoother workflow when uploading content during scheduling.

Step-by-Step Guide to Scheduling a Post on Facebook or Instagram

Step 1: Open the Scheduler

In your SocialPost dashboard, navigate to the left-hand menu and click on Scheduler. This will open your calendar view, where you can manage all your upcoming posts.

Step 2: Select Your Meta Profile

From your list of connected profiles, choose either your Facebook or Instagram account (or both if you're cross-posting). It’s important to verify the correct profile(s) before moving forward.

Step 3: Add Your Post Content

Paste your post content into the editor. You can write captions, add hashtags, tag accounts, or include links—tailor it for your chosen platform(s).

Step 4: Upload Media

Click on the Upload Media button to attach an image or video. Including visuals is highly recommended, especially on Instagram, where posts without images aren’t allowed.

Step 5: Select Your File

Choose the relevant image or video file from your computer and upload it to the post. You’ll see a preview once the file is attached.

Step 6: Click on Schedule

After you've added both content and media, click the Schedule button to proceed.

Step 7: Set Date, Time, and Time Zone

Select the date and time when you want the post to go live. Be sure to choose the correct time zone—especially important if you're managing pages for different regions.

Step 8: Click Done to Confirm

Once you’ve finalized the schedule details, click Done. Your post will now be queued to go live at the selected time.

Step 9: View and Manage Scheduled Posts

Your scheduled post will appear on the calendar view in the Scheduler. From here, you can edit, reschedule, or delete the post if needed.

Best Practices for Meta Posting

  • Cross-post strategically: While content can be similar, tailor it slightly for each platform (e.g., hashtags are more effective on Instagram).
  • Check media requirements: Instagram may have specific format or size requirements, especially for videos.
  • Stay consistent: Scheduling posts in advance helps you maintain a regular posting rhythm, which is key for audience engagement.
