Connecting Your LinkedIn Profile and Page to SocialPost

This guide will help you connect your LinkedIn Profile or Page to your SocialPost account. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth connection process and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Requirements

To connect a LinkedIn Profile or Page to your SocialPost account, you need the following:

  1. Connect LinkedIn Profile:
    • You can connect any LinkedIn profile to SocialPost.
    • Avoid connecting too many LinkedIn profiles to prevent issues, as excessive connections may lead to account suspension by LinkedIn.
    • LinkedIn prefers personal profiles to be managed independently by their owners.
  2. Connect LinkedIn Page:
    • A LinkedIn profile with Admin or Content Admin access to the LinkedIn Page you want to connect.
    • This applies to both LinkedIn Company Pages and Showcase Pages.
  3. LinkedIn Groups:

Note: LinkedIn groups are not accessible for third-parties via LinkedIn's API.

Steps to Connect Your LinkedIn Profile:

  1. Log in to LinkedIn Profile:
    • Ensure you are logged into the LinkedIn profile you want to connect.
  2. Log in to SocialPost:
    • In SocialPost, Click "Connect Socials" on the left-hand side.
  3. Start the Connection Process:
    • Click "Connect" next to LinkedIn.
  4. Authorize on LinkedIn:
    • If you are not already logged into your LinkedIn Profile, log into LinkedIn and click "Continue as [Name].
    • Select the Profile you want to connect and click "Connect."

Steps to Connect Your LinkedIn Page:

  1. Log in to LinkedIn Profile:
    • Ensure you are logged into the LinkedIn profile that has admin rights to the LinkedIn Page you want to connect.
  2. Log in to SocialPost:
    • In SocialPost, Click "Connect Socials" on the left-hand side.
  3. Start the Connection Process:
    • Click "Connect" next to LinkedIn.
  4. Authorize on LinkedIn:
    • Authenticate via a LinkedIn profile that has Admin and Content Admin access for the Page you want to connect.
    • Select the Pages you want to connect and click "Connect."

Troubleshooting LinkedIn Page Connection

  1. Checking page admin role:
    • Sign in to your LinkedIn profile that has administrative access to the LinkedIn Page.
    • Navigate to the "My pages" section on the left side of your LinkedIn homepage.
    • Click on the Page name that you want to manage.
    • Go to Settings and then select "Manage Admins."
    • Ensure you have a Super Admin or Content Admin role to connect to SocialPost.
    • If you don’t have the required role, proceed to the next section.
  2. Changing page admin role:

    Request Admin Access:

      • Contact the Super Admin of the Page and request the necessary permissions.

    Assign Admin Role:

      • Once granted access, sign in to your LinkedIn profile.
      • Go to the "My pages" section on the left side of your LinkedIn homepage.
      • Click on the Page name you want to manage.
      • Navigate to Settings and select "Manage Admins."
      • Locate the profile of the user whose role you want to change.
      • Click the edit icon next to the profile.
      • Grant the profile either the Super Admin or Content Admin role.
      • Confirm and save the changes. Only Super Admins can change roles for other users.
  3. Reauthorizing the Connection Between LinkedIn and SocialPost
    • On LinkedIn:
      1. Click on the "Me" icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
      2. Select "Settings & Privacy" from the dropdown menu.
      3. Click "Data privacy" in the left sidebar.
      4. Scroll to "Other applications" and click "Change" next to "Permitted Services."
      5. Look for "SocialPost" in the list of permitted services and click "Remove."
      6. Follow any additional prompts or confirmations to complete the removal process.

    • On SocialPost:
      1. Reconnect your Facebook account.
      2. Accept all permissions during the process.
