Connecting Your Instagram Creator of Business account to SocialPost

This guide will help you connect your Instagram Creator of Business account to your SocialPost account. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth connection process and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Requirements

To connect an Instagram Creator of Business account to your SocialPost account, you need the following:

1. Connect Facebook Page:
   • A Facebook account.
   • A Facebook Page.
   • Full or partial access to the Facebook Page.
   • An Instagram Business account or Creators account.
   • Connect the Facebook Page to your Instagram Business or Creators account.
   • Facebook requires Instagram Business or Creators account verification with Facebook.
2. Connect Instagram Profile account:

Note: Instagram profile accounts are not accessible to third-party apps via Facebook's API.

Steps to Connect Your Creator of Business account:

1. Log in to Facebook:
   • Ensure you are logged into the Facebook profile that has full or partial access to the facebook Page.
   • Note: Logging in as your Page will not work.
2. Log in to Instagram:
   • Ensure you are logged into your Instagram Business account or Creators account.
   • Your Instagram Business or Creator account must be connected to a Facebook Page with full or partial access to the page.
3. Log in to SocialPost:
   • In SocialPost, Click "Connect Socials" on the left-hand side.
4. Start the Connection Process:
   • Click "Connect" next to Instagram.
5. Authorize Instagram with Facebook:
   • Facebook requires an Instagram Business or Creators account verification with Facebook.
   • If you are not already logged into Facebook, log into Facebook and click "Continue as [Name]."
   • Select the Instagram Business or Creators account/s you want to connect and click "Connect"

Troubleshooting Instagram Creator of Business account Connection

Step 1: Check Your Instagram Account Type

1. Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
2. Tap the menu (three lines) in the top right corner.
   • Business account: You'll see "Business tools and controls".
   • Personal profile: You'll see "Account type and tools".
   • Creator account: You'll see "Creator tools and controls".
3. If your account is personal, you need to convert it to a professional account.

Step 2: Convert to a Professional Account via Facebook (Recommended)

1. Go to Facebook and navigate to your Pages.
2. Select the Page to associate with Instagram, or create a new one.
3. Make sure you have Full or Partial access on the Page.
4. In your Page, go to Settings > Linked Accounts.
5. Click Connect Account and enter your Instagram login credentials.
6. Follow the prompts to set up your Instagram as a business or creator account.

Step 3: Convert via Instagram App (Alternative Method)

1. Open Instagram and tap the menu button in the top right corner.
2. Scroll to "For professionals" and tap "Account type and tools".
3. Tap "Switch to professional account" and follow the prompts.
4. Choose a category, then select "Creator" or "Business".
5. To link a Facebook page, go to "For professionals" > "Creator tools and controls" or "Business tools and controls" > "Connect a Facebook page".

Step 4: Check Connection Between Facebook and Instagram

1. Log into the Facebook Page linked to Instagram.
2. Go to Professional Dashboard > Linked Accounts.
3. Tap "Switch to professional account" and follow the prompts.
4. Ensure your Instagram account is listed and properly connected.

Step 5: Reconverting Instagram Account (If Needed)

1. If there are issues, switch your Instagram account back to personal.
   • In Instagram, go to Settings > Account > Switch to a personal account.
2. Follow the steps above to convert back to a business or creator account, ensuring proper Facebook Page connection.

Step 6: Reauthorizing the Connection Between Instagram and SocialPost

1. On Facebook:
   • Go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business Integrations.
   • Find and remove SocialPost.
2. On SocialPost:
   • Reconnect your Instagram Business or Creator account.
   • Accept all permissions during the process
