How do I publish my first post?

The path from signup to a published LinkedIn post, in one sitting.

Before you start: You need your LinkedIn login and, if you have one, your company website address.

  1. Sign up. Create your account with Google or your email address.
  2. Build your Brand Kit. Enter your website address. SocialPost reads your site and pulls your colors, logo, and how you describe what you do. No website? Choose to continue without one and add your details yourself.
  3. Review your Brand Kit. Check the colors and the "What you offer" summary. Fix anything that's off. Every post uses this.
  4. Connect LinkedIn. Connect your personal profile, your company page, or both. You can create and save drafts without connecting; you only need a connected account to publish.
  5. Create a post. Open Create and describe what you want to say, in a sentence or two. SocialPost drafts the post with a visual. Don't like the posts generated during onboarding? Skip ahead to Create and write your own prompt instead.
  6. Preview it. Check how it looks on LinkedIn. Edit the text or the visual if you want.
  7. Publish or schedule. Publish now, or pick a date and time.

If it doesn't work: If LinkedIn won't connect, see How do I connect my LinkedIn profile? or the Connect Socials guide. If the post fails, open it to see why and retry.
